EMBRACING is a very moving, personal documentary about the people surrounding director Naomi KAWASE and her desperate search for her father, whom she has not seen since childhood. In 1993, EMBRACING won the Special Prize of the FIPRESCI Jury at the Yamagata Documentary Film Festival.

Naomi KAWASE studied at the University of Visual Arts in Osaka. After numerous short films and documentaries, she realized her first feature film MOE NO SUZAKU in 1996, for which she received the Golden Camera in Cannes.
