Yaji, who has lost his wife and only son to an epidemic, lives alone in a ramshackle row house. He is in love with Okino, a popular local courtesan, but she remains frustratingly beyond his reach. But when she wants to run away, she needs his help. Enjoy this period costume drama in which no samurai appear, but will bring a tear to your eye after you’ve laughed yourselves silly.
